| SUMMER 2009
This summer has been quite a chore. All three kids got lice from camp.
And the fun thing about lice is, it's impossible to get rid of. You
can get rid of it by using the typical solutions (RID, or some home made
concoction), but then the kids get together with friends, and they get it
right back. And no one knows, until someone mentions it on the
playground "oh, by the way, Samantha had lice last week". GREAT!
Now we have to check Teresa again, and in the meantime, she's gotten it
back, and given it to Jack and Greta again. This exact situation
happened three or four times. So burn the sheets again, go through all
the hair, ONE BY ONE, and get the nits out, then shampoo, rinse and repeat,
and repeat, and repeat. Thank GOD Maggie has the patience to deal with
it. Hours and hours of sitting patiently on the deck, with a super
fine toothed comb, going thru individual strands of hair. I'd have
shaved 'em all and been done with it. Thanks Mama!
We also went camping, had a couple birthday parties, went to Six Flags,
took a day trip downtown Chicago to see the new Millennium Park, went to
beaches, parks, museums, the Jelly Belly Factory...the works! Enjoy. |
