Draft Central 2001....

This is our first session using commish.com as a source.  I have spend hours fine tuning it so that it works.  I fully expect everyone to use it.   I have added a link to the page on the side bar over there (left side), so there's no excuse not to use it.

The draft went very well.  There are a few people that had trouble getting out of the box...and they know who they are.  I won't mention any names, but his initials are BRETT LANE!  Could you have any MORE New England Pats on your team?   And maybe you should have drafted LESS RBs.  Antwain Smith as your 3rd and only backup RB...is risky to say the least.  And Brendan...maybe you should have drafted a RB!  FOUR RBs in the first FOUR rounds?  Now you HAVE to make some trades.  And everyone KNOWS it.  Of course, you could have Willie Jackson as one of your starting WRs...or Weinke as your back up QB...but it's not recommended.   Brunger...Mike Anderson in the second round?  There's no upside to that pick.   If he becomes a stud...he's only fulfilling his 2nd round status...if he does ANYTHING less than greatness, he's going to be considered a bust...tough pick.  Have I mentioned Antwain Smith?  Matt got real lucky having Joe Germaine traded to the KC Chiefs..he'll give Bubby a run for his money.  Warner and Bruce, then Emmitt....hmmm, we'll have to see there.  I couldn't believe how many of you passed on Jamal Anderson...don't get me wrong, I appreciate it, but wow!  He's going to be a STUD this yr...I hope you're ready.  Jack got a little flustered when Eddie George fell into his lap...but recovered nicely...Torry Holt...Derrick Alexander, Wychek...not bad Champ.  Jake pulled off another good draft, Fred, Gonzo, and Garcia...lacking a little in the WR dept though, unless Plummer has a breakout year, you might need some help.  Jesse looked like Creskin this year...what happened little bro?  Great starters, but where's the depth?  Kevin got a little sloppy there in the 4th/5th round turn, and got burned when neither of his guys were there on the turn.  Not a tragedy though, let's hope Keychain was worth it.  Rino and Komo had a little bit of a tough time with the draft, but it's their first time...RBs are WAY more important that they gave credit for...Ron Dayne as a starter, and Alstot as his backup...could be in for a long season.  Big Red had a good draft, but definitely fell into the "Big Red trap"...drafting TWO QBs in the first THREE rounds...not bad if you can trade him for a great RB, but it might be tough to get value for him early.  WRs a question mark also.  Overall I'd say people drafted well.  There were comments from Brooks and Komo that stated they were surprised NONE of their sleepers were there later in the rounds, and that people "drafted way better than they expected them to draft.   My Brother-n-law Danny and Gertz like to call us the "Arena" Fantasy Football League, but I'm drafting in THEIR draft Sat, and I have a feeling that I've seen some of the best (and worst - BRETT) drafting I'm going to see this year.  Good luck everyone!
