In April 2004 the Red Waters Poker League was born.  Big Red and I were discussing our weekly poker game, trying to make it more exciting.  For 10 years we'd been doing the same thing, week in and week out , and we figured there had to be something we could do to spice it up.  Then Red suggested assembling a league.  The league of extraordinary poker players.  The idea was simple.  We'd gather as many people as we could, and we'd hold a year long poker league.  Once a month we'd hold a tournament, and the players would get points for their finishes, similar to the World Poker Tour, or Nascar.  There would be monthly payouts, and end of the year payouts for the best five or ten players of the year. We'd charge a league fee to pay for the materials, and supply the crew with food and drinks.  It took all of 4 days to fill the league (we capped it at 30 as to not overwhelm ourselves) and we were off and running.  I want to thank everyone for their participation and continued enthusiasm.  I will be posting the results here each month, so remember to stop by and see how your favorite players are doing.  Thanks for coming, and enjoy the monthly summaries.
