TOURNAMENT #4    

  

Well, what can we say? The July tournament was a blast! 

Yes, it was disappointing that only 20 RWPL’ers showed up at Jesse’s house, but the guys who were there played thier proverbial hearts out. After what felt like 9 hours of battle, Tito took his spot among the tournament winners!

The Final 3 Players: Tito, Brian and Marc Ruffino. Since I was not there, I’ll leave it Brian to explain what went down on the last hand:

I'm on short stack sitting in the Big Blind position ($5,000)...Mark Ruffino sitting in Small Blind ($2,500) with medium stacks...Tito on the button with FAT stacks...Tito calls the 5Gs, Marc calls the 2.5 Gs, and I raise all in (an extra 4gs)....EVERYONE CALLS! Flop comes K, 2, 4. I'm exhilarated as I'm holding K, J (but all in at this point, so no betting)  Mark checks, and Tito puts Mark all in. Mark CALLS!  Upon flipping the cards, Tito reveals K, 5, and Mark K, 3!  (What this means to H20 is that Mark is going to be out, and H20 and Tito will play heads up for the $$$).  4th street comes a rag....ALRIGHT!  Moments away from taking the lead on the entire tournament, and another 2nd place finish minimum...just as long as there’s no 3, or 5! NO 3 or 5!  River.....5!   Tito wipes us BOTH out and wins the tourney!"

Congrats Tito!  Can you feel the excitement? Don’t you wish you were there? The final table consisted of: Tito, Brian, Ruffino, Diego, Jason Weiss, Jay R, and Zach “Barbie”.  Nobody had anything to say about Friday’s tourney, so I will:

·         Chuck was embarrassingly late, embarrassingly drunk and exited embarrassingly quickly.

·         Is anyone else disappointed that Omar “Mr. Vegas” Bashqawi has been a no-show for 2 of 4 tournaments?

·         Geertz won the opening tournament, but has been going downhill since with finishes of 3rd, 8th and now 12th.

·         H20 is on the prowl ... after a disgusting 13th in the opener, he’s reeled-off final table appearances in each 
of the last 3 tourneys with 6th, 2nd and 3rd-place finishes.

·         Players who still haven’t cracked a final table appearance include: Andy Loria, Andy R., Brendan, Brunger, Chuck, Berko, Judd, Omar, Lawler and Uncle Pat.

 The August tournament will be held at Jesse’s house on August 27th at 7:30pm. Try and be there on time, or at least show-up this month.
