The H20 / Carpenter "Bet of a Lifetime"

At the beginning at of this years football season (late July) my friend Steve Carpenter and I decided to make another bet.  I say "another" because we have been gambling on our favorite sports teams for some years now.  Usually he bets on either his Detroit teams (as he's from Detroit), or on his Boston teams (as he now lives in Boston).  I ALWAYS bet on my Chicago teams.   If you're a sports fan you'll have already deduced that I lose a lot.  Chicago has been a wasteland for winning sports franchises since the untimely departure of "His Airness" MJ.  So when Carp posed this years football bet to me, needless to say I was apprehensive.  The bet was between his Detroit Lions and DA BEARS!  If you remember, Detroit was 9-7 last year, and Chicago was 5-11...yikes!  As always I agreed (nervously), but we were tired of betting our usual bets (dinner or $100), so Carp suggested we do something extraordinary this time around, something WAY out there...the loser would be required to get the winner's football logo TATOOED on their posterior.  SERIOUSLY!  I agreed, and the rest is history (and gratuitously posted here on my site).  This happened shortly after the new year.   He was a good sport about it too...I guess he had to be!  HA HA HA HA!   Enjoy...
