2006

December 2006

December. Christmas.  New Years Eve.  What a wonderful month.  The kids are having a ball.  Mom and Dad are still the happiest people on the planet.  Life is good.

This month went fast.  We took 450 pictures with our new camera (I did), and I swear, I may be the worst photographer on the planet!  Of the 90 "keepers" there are about 5 "good ones".  The rest are simply good memories.  I'm embarrassed, but what can I do?  Maybe I should take a class?  Anyway...enjoy the new year.

November 2006

Thanksgiving, snow storms, and Christmas lights.  It's been a great month.  I had my hernia surgery, lost 15 lbs. and got a haircut (ok, I'm running out of news).

I hope everyone is going to have a great holiday (I'm typing this three days before Christmas).  Life is good.  Happy New Year everyone.  Here's hoping 2007 is as good as 206 was. BEARS 12-2!  :)

October 2006

October seems like it was so long ago!  I have to try to get these pages updated before another month goes by.

We had Jack's party this month, Halloween, and a wonderful fall day at the zoo.  I will also try not to be so wordy in my write ups inside the month...I got word that maybe cut it down a bit...Will do. BEARS 9-2!  Enjoy.

September 2006

September was fun...JESSE GOT ENGAGED!  ALL RIGHT!  They went to the Dominican Republic, and he asked Liane Hancock for her hand.  It was very romantic sounding (I've never seen their pictures, so I'll take their word for it).
Greta is now officially a kindergartener.  You'll notice the lack of pictures of her this month, b/c she's at school all day, and Maggie is taking pictures during the day.  It's been a good fall so far.  DA BEARS!  6-0 baby!

August 2006

Big things are afoot in the Waterkotte household.  Vacation, the zoo, fantasy football draft, and a little something called KINDERGARTEN!  We have a child in school!  It's really been an exciting month.
Another thing happened this month...we WON THE LOTTERY!!!  OK, I'm lying.  I've just always wanted to say that.  I hope all is well with you and yours...lots of pictures this month, try not to fall asleep...      :)

July was absolutely insane.  Every weekend was packed with activity, and every week something mind blowing was going on.  I have more details inside this month, but just to give you an idea, one weekend was full of out of town guests, one weekend was full of birthday parties, both here and in Wisconsin and another weekend was spent out of town with the extended family.  Add that to the 4th of July, the "accident", and Teresa's shots, and you'll see that life has been pretty crazy.  Again, shout out to Maggie, who makes every crazy day as relaxing and enjoyable as they can be.  I love you babe.

June was great.  Teresa had her 1st birthday, and we had tons of fun with all the family in town.  We did however find out some very disappointing news.  We aren't able to go to Petie's house this summer for our family vacation.  He's got something that's come up and it's making us zig when we were ready to zag, but hey, we're flexible.  Greta is getting ready to be a kindergartener, and Jack is learning to use the big potty. I wonder what July will bring?  I'll let you know.

Summertime!  I can't tell you how much more we like summer around here than we do winter.  Our yards add another 1000 square feet to our home.  Just being able to go sit on the deck, or the lawn, and watch the kids run around is so very nice.  I have to change the top banner.  The winter scene is long gone.  This month it's taken me a while to get an update out there.  It's actually been 6 weeks since my last update, and there are 100 pictures to go thru, so I'll stop talk now, and you can move on.  Thanks again for keeping up.

4-30-06

We now have a 5 year old, it's official.  Greta had a birthday this month, and I got to take a day off and go to Greta's preschool to be the "helper" for the day of her party.  It was extremely cute.  We had the family over for her day, and had a ball.  I love having the whole family over here.  It's kind of tight quarters in our house, but there's something intimate about it that makes it especially enjoyable.  We also went to Chucky Cheese after Greta's party at school.  That was a fun weekend.  OK, enjoy the pictures...

3-31-06

Springtime is here!  Yipee!  We're so glad to see the warm weather rolling into Chicago I can't even tell you.  We captured the last of the snow this month in pictures, and in the freezer.  We have a snowball ready to be thrown in August in the freezer in the garage.  We have so much fun!  Speaking if fun, Greta's 5th birthday is in a few days (April 8th).  We're going to have a big party with a "My Little Pony" theme.  If you must send gifts, make them Alka-Seltzer...no wait, I mean My Little Pony stuff.  She's a big fan.  OK, onto the pictures...and don't mind the blur on some of the pictures, that's where Jack wiped his sticky fingers on the lens...nice!

Did anyone notice that February is already over?  What the heck is going on?  The Olympics came and went, and Spring Training is already under way.  I swear to God, the only thing that keeps me paying attention is this site.  It seems like I update it every day.  It's been six weeks!  Well, in the last six weeks, Jack has broken 138 things, including 28 DVDs, 47 toys that don't belong to him, my laptop, the TV, the DVD player, my Makita drill, Maggie's blender (twice), and countless crayons, pencils, pens, markers, etc.  He IS little Brian reincarnate...my dad's wish has come true.  Thanks Pup!  Or more correctly, sorry Pup.  At least we're getting some good photos...enjoy.

Another year begins.  Christmas and New Years were spent sniffling and sneezing, and lying on the floor with a bad back.  But other than that it was great!  The kids loved it though.  Greta and Jackson got all kinda gifts from the grand parents, and the families all got along great.  It's really nice to have families that don't fight.  I hear horror stories about troubled families, and I have to say, I'm glad I don't have to deal with it.  Some bad pictures this month, sorry...
