Postcards from 2005

12-10-05

Pretty big doings this month.  Jack and Teresa got Christened, Thanksgiving came and went, and I had my first HighTower business trip.  I spent six days in Dallas last week.  It was 30 degrees in Texas!  Brutal. Anywho, things on the home front are great.  We put up the Christmas tree this weekend, and we're gearing up for Christmas.  That's my cousin Pete.  He was Teresa's God Father.  He kept putting oranges in his mouth and quoting Marlon Brando all weekend.  Good stuff.  OK, enjoy the pictures...

Halloween has come and gone, and we're racing towards Turkey day.  We had a great month.  Maggie gets so into Halloween it's funny.  She wanted Jackson to go as a punk rocker, so she talked me into giving him a mo-hawk.  He actually has a mo-hawk now.  And we painted it green.  Greta dressed as, you guessed it, a princess.  And baby Tess went as a butterfly.  Very cute.
Things are rolling right along...We're redoing the outside of the house, so next month I'll have some before and after shots for you.  Until then, Happy Thanksgiving.  Enjoy.

Ok, you got me.  I skipped September.  I gotta tell you though, life is going by so fast these days, I can't believe September is over.  I don't even remember it.  Funny, I just looked at Maggie and said "what happened in September, and she looked up (thinking), and said, "I don't know, is September over?".  See?  It's not just me!  I guess some things happened...Greta started her last year of Pre-School...Grandma Shirley had a birthday...we went to a pumpkin festival...I made my numbers again at work...all good stuff.  Enjoy the pics.

August has come and gone, and we've all had a wonderful summer.  Maggie took the kids to Elizabeth's wedding...IN MONTANA!  What a trooper she is.  Three kids in an airplane for a 6 day "vacation".  Seems a lot more like work than it does a vacation.  She did have some help...Mimi went with too, so they played the "jack-zone". One goes man to man on Jack, the other plays a 2-deep zone on Greta and Tess.  It works....sometimes.  Sometimes you have to double up Jack, and leave Greta and Tess open.  It's risky, but if you only do it a few times a day, it's pretty effective.  Enjoy this month's pics...

July has been one heck of a month.  Full of learning, and fun, and maybe even a little aggravation squiggied in there.  Having three kids is a pretty big change.  No sleep, lots of screaming and complaining...But at least work is easy...HA!
Things are good though.  I really can't complain.  Thank God for Maggie!  I'd have lost my mind after the first three days if it weren't for her.  She really knows how to keep everyone calm and relaxed.  Now all I need is m vasectomy and we'll be officially out of the woods.  August is the month!  Yipee!

The new one has arrived!  Teresa Ruth Waterkotte is here, in all her HUGE glory.  We are really good at making big healthy babies.  This one was 10.75 Lbs.  She arrived at 3:30 AM on Wednesday morning.  She was one day from being a Gemini.  SO that makes her a Cancer.  I think that's good, as I hear Gemini's can be hard headed.  Mama is healthy, and so happy she didn't have a C-Section.  Everyone is home now, and Greta is INFATUATED with baby T.  She won't leave her side.  Life is good.

Fun in the summer.  We are really having fun now.  We are literally pacing waiting for Mags to drop this baby.  She's 41 weeks pregnant, and MISERABLE!  But Greta is having a wonderful time, as is our little Tasmanian Devil (Jack).  He's just old enough to know what he wants, but still can't articulate it.  So he's constantly frustrated.  Which makes a miserable mama even more crazy.  I swear, it's getting kinda hectic.

(All Else April)

Life in heaven is wonderful.  I can't imagine passing onto anything better than it is now.  We're two months away from having our third child, and we couldn't be more excited.  Maggie is popping out, and daddy's keeping up with her.  Greta turned 4 this month, and we gave our backyard a facelift.  There are so many pictures from this month, I had to make three individual sections.  Enjoy.

(The New Yard)

We started working on the house two years ago when we moved in, and we're slowly but surely putting on the finishing touches.  The backyard was a major undertaking.  I wish I had more "before" pictures, b/c the backyard was horrible.  It was three levels.  With a rickety old fence, and no semblance of privacy.  Now we've got what we originally envisioned...

Greta is FOUR already!!  Can you believe it?  And it's funny, she's turning into a little kid right before our eyes.  She goes from wanting to watch movies, to explaining why something hurt her feelings, to explaining the complex instructions of a card game to her friends.  It's crazy to catch her in the act of being herself.  She's a little woman already.  The whole thing is still mind blowing.  Enjoy...

February and March lumped together here.  I've been dealing with this new job and dang how life has changed.  I told my friend Jason, leaving my old job and going to the new one, is like jumping out of a parked Yugo and into a Mazarotti barreling down the autobahn at 150 MPH.  Calling it different would be an insult to the word different.  It's nuts.  I've never worked so hard in my life.  I think this is my "just desserts" for living the easy life these past 10 years.  Needless to say I haven't had as much free time.  But here are the latest pictures.  Maggie is 3 months away...jeez!

December is out, and January is in.  December...ha!  That's so last year.

We had a great Christmas though.  We got to see all the families in two days, running and scrambling, and making sure no one felt slighted.  Christmas is tough with so many families to see.  Next year will be even tougher though...we'll have another child to drag with us.  Sheesh!  What did I get myself into?  Oh, and we had an ultrasound...look away if you want it to be a surprise...it's going to be a (rhymes with hurl)  Enjoy the pictures....
