Update #2
September 13th, 2000

This is it guys.  The season is underway, and things are already looking good.  Dan Delany is looking like a force already, but 37 points from Kurt Warner adds to the allure.

I'll do a quick breakdown for each player, as I'm going to do the stats a little differently this yr.

Earth Division:

H20 scored 131 points to take the early lead in the high point total race.  Lots of help from Tiki Barber who is slowly going to make people in NY  forget about a certain Heisman trophy winner.  Cade is the man, and I got nothing from Tony Gonzalez…my fingers are crossed!

Matt scored 85 points and lost!  What a bummer!  Not a great day to face Kurt Warner. A solid outing from all of Matt's players, and Eddie George was shut down.  This could be a ruthless team…if he only had a QB!

Jake looks ruthless too!  We, by FAR, have the toughest division!  Even with 10 combined points from Isaac Bruce and Eric Moulds he still scored 80 pts!  Heads up guys!

Brendan was talking so much shit earlier this yesterday, I couldn't even listen.  He scored 75 points largely due to Duce Staley.  And Cullpepper didn't hurt him either.  It's so hard to say anything positive about a guy who's tooting his own horn!  Great, good luck Brendan, but you'd think after 3 years of "close but no cigar", he'd realize that karma does exist, and shit talking only leads to failure!  Which I couldn't be more excited about. Tough break about Galloway and Aikman huh?

The Wind Division:

Kevin ran into some tough luck this week as the rematch of the 1999 FF Super Bowl ended with the same results.  Kevin scored 73 points, yet still fell 60 points short of the win.  Kerry Collins didn't come through like we thought he would, and that directly effected Amani Toomer's production.  Marshall Faulk proved to be the stud we knew he'd be, and Paul Edinger scored the second most points on his roster.  He's still going to be tough in an interesting division.

Moffitt had a good day, and would have won if he had remembered that he had Terry Glenn on his roster, but as it stands, he started Bobby Ingram and lost out on 15 points.  Good-looking team though, let's hope Robert Smith stays healthy.

Brett Scored 92 points and only needed half of them to beat the first LOW POINT TOTAL OF THE WEEK…..BIG RED!!!  Congratulations Red…you now owe the league $155.
Brett DID lose Joey Galloway for the season though…Looks like either Wayne Chrebet or Curtis Conway will have to pick up the slack.  OH BOY!

Brunger faltered while Dillon was on a bye, and Fred Taylor was/is hurt.  Huntley and Bettis combined for 6 points, and Keyshawn Johnson (mirror image of last year's Antonio Freeman), scored 6 himself.  With a full healthy squad, Brunger won't be bad.

The Fire Division:

I mentioned Dan's team, but he's gonna be bummin when Jamal Lewis starts in Baltimore, and Terrell comes back.  He'll be reduced to Kimbal Anders, and the phones will be ringing!

Jesse would have won HIS game had he started Rod Smith last night.  Who would have thought that Kevin Dyson wouldn't have A SINGLE CATCH?  McNair scored 5 points to top it off!  With Moss and McNair, I don't worry for Jesse.

As I mentioned, Red captured the illustrious title of BITCH this week, with a whopping 44 points. Red got screwed though, Terrell got him 3 measly points…and he only needed 4 out of him to beat Brunger's low point total of 45.  He got screwed by Chris Carter too.  If, at the beginning of the week, he'd have told me that Terrell and C. Carter would combine for 5 points, and Tiki Barber would score 31, I'd have laughed in his face.  It'll get better Red.

And Jack is on the board!  61 points gets him a win in the cheesiest division in our league!  Be thankful Jake or Matt isn't in that division, you guys would be in trouble!  Jack did receive a balanced performance from his team though.  Ricky Williams and Marvin Harrison both had good games without TDs.  Jack won't be bad at all!

If  I had to make an assessment early on, I'd say there are a ton of good teams in our league.  No one totally blew their draft, and it's going to show.  I have a feeling we're going to see record scoring this year, and I hope that everyone has a ball!  And to those of you that saw the debacle at Michael's this week…forgive me…I guess I can't handle 5 beers on an empty stomach anymore!?!  It won't happen again!

Here's how we stand after 1 week...
(P.S. Kev, Del Greco didn't miss the FG...it was their punter)
