Another month rolls by, and the Waterkotte family continues to flourish.  We've had a great month so far, and we've done some really neat stuff, including taking the "Santa Train" downtown to do some Christmas shopping.  I had no idea that having two kids would be so different from having just the one.  When Greta came along, things changed for us, but not so much that we couldn't just throw her on our back and move on.  Now things are different, and it's due to Greta having a mind of her own.  A mind that is developing and becoming self aware.  It's fun when Mommy is carrying Jack in the belly sling, and you're walking thru a crowded department store, on a Saturday, 2-weeks before Christmas, in Downtown Chicago, and Greta decides she wants Mommy, AND ONLY MOMMY, to carry her.  And when you don't IMMEDIATELY comply she has a full-blown meltdown right there in Sacks Fifth Avenue, complete with screaming and throwing herself on the floor, wriggling around as if in extreme pain, as people walk by, their faces aghast, thinking, "Wow am I glad I'm not THAT kid's parent!"  Yes, things do get interesting when you have more than one child.  Thankfully I have a very patient wife to remind me that things like this happen with ALL kids, and thus the name "terrible twos".  So things are getting interesting to say the least.  But I can't tell you how nice it is to have family around to help out.  I can't imagine doing what my parents did.  Moving to another state, just as the kids are being born, to face life alone...talk about masochistic!  Luckily my job has kept me right here with my support system still in place.  Life seems tough now, but I don't know how we'd do it without the family around.  I hope they have a wonderful Christmas, as well as the rest of you that have supported us in everything that we do.  Thank you, and have a wonderful holiday.  Enjoy...
